A World Leader in Kidney Transplants |

|
The Transplant Center—Kidney transplant, pediatric
University of Minnesota Physicians has performed over 900 kidney transplants for infants, children and young adults since the transplant program began in 1963. About 10 percent of the more than 250 annual kidney transplants performed at University of Minnesota Medical Center are on pediatric patients under age 19.
We have a long history of research devoted to improving results for pediatric patients. With special expertise in difficult diseases such as oxalosis and congenital nephrotic syndrome we have performed more kidney transplants with greater success in this special group than any other program in the world. We specialize in dialyzing infants and small children as they await kidney transplant. Still, our one-year patient and graft survival rate is over 95 percent.
